i really wudnt care if the made more, or if they left it the same. im more woried about the game mechanics/balancing/drops/skills/ etc. theres enough problems with that alone, and personally, id rather see them fixed before anythin mo is released.............

I don't know if someone has already said this or not, but they made an Avicara Henchman for Factions... Why not make Avicara a playable race?
I'd love to play an Avicara Warrior.

Yeah I know I asked your opinion, but maybe I should explain that I'm looking for feedback such as *why* it is crap, and not a flame. Seems some people are too stupid to assume this, and so flame instead.
So why do you think its crap? Is it just because you dont like races? Please expand. IMO races dont hurt anything but makes there less clones in a game with very little customization. It wouldnt un-balance anything, just give a reason to replay the game. And hey, if you dont wanna play as another race, you dont have to play as them.

It would be cool to have more different options but so far it is not needed, anet can spend there time on gameplay and more exciting content, or set up a team for jsut this, but it's not at the top of my list.

I didn't ask anet to charge 10 bucks for access to different races at all.

Paying 10 bucks for two new character slots is something they are doing now. With anet getting money out of us in such a way I merely said it would not surprise me if they offered new playable races but at a cost. It's not enough to know how to read you have to know the meanings of the individual words and what is actually being said with the words that were used.

Perhaps in the next few Chapters, the new Professions will be new races. Don't expect any new race option though--that would be utterly ridiculous.

I think if ANet decided to introduce a new race it would be something original. So far, GW has been very fresh and has bucked the traditions of the fantasy genre. If the dev team decided that adding a new race was the way to go then I doubt that we would see a race that looks like it was taken from a D&D manual.
On the other hand, I'm fine with playing as a human. I can't wait to see what new classes are in store for us in Chapter 3.
EDIT: @ShadowStorm - I agree. When I first saw the Tengu Hench I got all excited and started thinking that maybe Tengu would be a new playable race (like in Chapter 3) and the hench was a teaser for it or something. I think it would be a cool idea, even if they just did Tengu as a cosmetic option (like have the same abilities and classes as humans).

I've been thinking about this, and it would actually work fairly well if they limited it to existing (even existing within future chapters) species.
That leaves us with Tengu, Charr, and Dwarves as playable. I don't see Charr working out because they're basically genocidal in their interactions with humans. The Deldrimor Dwarves and the Angchu Tengu are pretty cool guys. They've got all the same skills and stuff and they're good buddies with (some) humans. So maybe.
But special bonuses? Absolutely not. After all, it's not like they have any now.
Oh, and no elves. I will personally hunt down and kill the person responsible if elves are put into Guild Wars. So far ANet has crafted a fairly unique gameworld. If they shoehorn elves into it, I'm gonna scream. Because the vast majority of elves in fantasy games are 1) blatant Tolkein ripoffs and 2) almost naked.

Well, at least they aren't Tolkein ripoffs. Plus, they aren't given ears and some arbitrary bonuses just to be "different".
As for mostly naked... That is true. At least it's not Lineage II.
